MUSIC PRODUCTION

FOR SINGERS, SONGWRITERS & PERFORMERS

Before retiring I’d worked with many different artists and companies, working in a variety of genre from hip-hop and R&B to country, dance and pop!

Joining the music business 40 odd years ago, I started out as a gigging musician but then strayed into artist management, songwriting and audio production.

Though I’d been running a home studio for some time it wasn’t until 1998 that Brick Hit House studio was born. At that time I’d signed a deal with an LA based music publisher and I felt it was important to give my studio an identity.
For me at least that’s when the studio really became a production facility for writers and singers.

*** n.b. The studio is no longer for hire but I’m always prepared to volunteer my services for a worthy cause! **

… I believe this was the first song that we wrote that turned out really special, maybe our first effort?
Those were fabulous times for me. Great singers, a terrific producer and songwriter and studio owner and friend to collaborate with. We had it all!

R J JONES (USA)

Songwriter / Publisher

John Purser has been editing my tracks (clicks and backings) for over 5 years. His work is spot on!
His musical knowledge is clear-cut. He is precise, articulate and accurate.
Above all he is an absolute pleasure to work with. If there’s ever a problem to solve, he is patient, quick and focused on the task at hand!
Working with clients like the BBC, P&O and The Ministry of defence, I know I am in good hands when my tracks or charts need some TLC (even at a moments notice).
I would not hesitate to recommend John and Brick Hit House to fellow musicians and performers.
They are ace!!’

KELLY O'BRIEN (The Dolly Show)

TV / Stage Performer

Hi, I’m Martyn Baylay. I’m a songwriter & lyricist and as part of my song writing output I wrote the UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 in which we came joint 3rd!

I have used BrickHitHouse studios on many occasions and have found John Purser to be most professional and totally dedicated to achieving the results I require.
Highly recommended!

Songwriter

“Wow!!!
This track sounds soooo good!!! You go John!
It’s solid and I don’t miss anything!

I am really happy with the track. You did a great job.
You have the tech now. I can hear it.”

Lynda Laurence

Lynda Laurence Lynda is best known for being a part of two Motown acts: Stevie Wonder's backup group The Third Generation, and one of the post-Diana Ross 1970s line-ups of The Supremes

I’m a record producer. I’ve been working with The Supremes (as a group and individual members) for over 25 years. Most of the tracks for songs I’ve recorded/mixed/mastered and published have been through my collaboration with JOHN PURSER. He’s a great guy who listens to what I want, easily interprets my ideas into great sounding, excellent quality programming. He keeps on top of the lastest, ever-changing music and technical trends which always result in phenomenal music. His studio can also accommodate live musicians and/or vocal recordings, two facilities I’ve used many times with great results. John’s extensive experience as a keyboard player and engineer/producer has given him the ability to credibly tackle any music genre successfully. If you’re looking for an easy-going, honest, trustworthy and reliable guy to help you make great music – you’ve found him.

STEVE WEAVER (UK / USA)

Executive Producer

I first started to work with JP at the BrickHitHouse around the late 1980’s and very quickly formed a working and personal relationship that has continued to this day.

The level of expertise and professionalism shown to me is the reason for such a long standing association with JP and his studio.

Together we wrote a number of songs, good and bad and indeed bloody awful but out of this came a few golden nuggets that we are both very proud of.
In particular our song ‘Don’t Wanna Wait Forever’ that was recorded by the great late Robin Gibb and included on his last album ‘Magnet’
